And Cahill thinks the competition among the players for first team places will foster performances of the standard required to get back to winning ways.
He told evertontv: "I think there is so much anticipation for the home game but it is another game where we are going to have to mix it up.
"It's exciting because there are so many great players to play and so many different formations; you could pick two or three different teams from this squad of players.
"It's exciting to play and see what happens and if selected do as well as you can."

John HauThis would be line-up I want to see against Wolves tomorrow; Howard, Coleman, Heitinga, Jagielka, Baines, Anichebe/Billy, Arteta, Fellaini/Rodwell, Pienaar, Cahill, Saha/Beckford. and hopfully we did see Gueye coming on in the last 15~20 mins, he should be most effective during that part of the game!

Stuart Tomlinsonis there any reason why coleman is not on the EVERTON squad list on bbc website as well as the premier league website but shows up on BLACKPOOLS, it might go some way to explain why he wasn't in the squad for the opening game

John Pepper4-4-1-1! Howard -Coleman Heitinga Jagielka Baines - Arteta Fellaini Rodwell Billy- Cahill - Saha. best 11 in my opinion. Moyes is a great manager but too loyal to neville and osman i feel. also distin, yobo, and hibbert are useless. as for the yak we should drive him down to upton park ourselves.

Chris ConnollyI really hope Coleman starts- we definately lacked an overlapping/attacking right back at Blackburn!!!
Thursday 19th August 19:57 Report CommentCRAIG WEILDINGSaha as got to start. Every time i try to pick my 11 i end up saying O I HAVE LEFT X OUT. That is now how good the squad is. So once again i say leave it to Moyesiah. We can trust his judgements BIG TIME. COYB.

gavin mckindleyheitinger has got to come in end of story and a thought about coleman - if everybody thinks he needs to work on his defending then maybe his best position could be on the right side of midfield where his pace is needed? with a solid full back behind him he could become a full time attacking player?

mike noakesI'm another amongst the Heitinga fans, though agreeing that Distin has played well. As for Coleman he gives us something on the right flank that we really don't have anywhere else, real pace. His defending may be slightly suspect but if you look at most of the attacking fullbacks Cole, Johnson, Bale they are all better going forward than they are defensively. The thing we must regain is the flexibility, flair and workrate of the midfield five( assuming that's the set up), and someone to stick them in up front wouldn't go amiss. This is probably the best squad I have seen since the glory of 85/86, so I am excited for this season. COYB.

David BadcockThis is such a refreshing change from prevoius seasons in that everyone is making really good points in support of why certain players should be getting the nod, with little negativity. It just goes to show how well DM has done in amassing a really good squad and the difficulty which he will now face selecting his team each game. I still find it really difficult to choose the midfield but for the moment I would go with Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Heitinga, Baines, Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Beckford with Rodwell and Gueye ready to come on if the midfield is not getting it right. I like teams using the width but you then need a definite DM.

Daniel BuddaThink we need to bring a few fresh faces in for this, but also we need to be wary of chopping n changing just cos we have a bigger squad... agree with chris -would like to see heit-tower make the 11, can't fault Distin for last saturday, but distribution was certainly an issue with everyone. We need to sort this n think bout how to break ugly teams like blackburn down, cos just hoofing the ball up from the back didnt work last week... would also like to see DM change things sooner when they are clearly not working, but he is the man so sure he felt that way too! Billy should come in too as we need more width. COYB!
Thursday 19th August 16:23 Report CommentDAVE HUNTERColeman is great at going forward but as has been said he still needs to learn his defensive duties, can't complain though the other lot bought Johnson for a small fortune and he can't defend!!!

Chris Bannantynethis season might be a tight race at the top. we are already 3 points behind some of the others, so lets work on our for-and-against. 6-0 at home against wolves! COYB!
Thursday 19th August 15:13 Report CommentChris BannantyneYeah I would love to see Heitinga in the squad. And it isnt like Distin has been bad - far from it. I think he was one of our most solid players against Blackburn and later last year, but Heitinga also has presence going forward, and i cant see how we could justify putting him on for Jags, so unfortunately i think Distin gives way. I do want to see Coleman in the side. His runs forward are stupidly good. I have no idea where he is heading half the time, but he always ends up near goal. Some people have put a question mark over his defence, but I am not sure. He seemed pretty solid in preseason and what little I saw of him last season. But we wont know for sure unless we give him a run and some experience. If I were boss I wouldnt start fellaini either - I always thought he is a good impact player coming on in the second half. he changes the dynamic of the midfield and uses his height well. He is great at unsettling opposition defences just after theyve gotten comfortable at half time. Start Rodwell - I think he thrives under pressure, lets give him some.
Thursday 19th August 15:10 Report Commentdavid harmanWe must start this match with one objective in mind victory, we should play those who are showing a hunger for the game and those who are working their sock`s of to keep fit and claim their place, don`t use the same player`s unless they are hungry enough to win at all cost.

John HauCraig, I agree with you Moyes should know all our players well and should have the option to pick what ever team he feel is right, but look at what happen on the first game of the season against Blackburn, it was an awful display and at what point did we made anything happen until Rodwell & Beckford comes on? The team lacked energy on the first game of the season, it's about time Moyes stop using faith and experience to pick his starting line-up, experience is important but it's about time he pick his line-up base on form, fitness & sharpness of his other player! I am not saying pick a player who has no first team experience, player like Rodwell, Anichebe, Coleman, Beckford & Vaughan are the sort of player I am talking about. I have to say I look forward to Heitinga return hopfully to replace Distin!

brennan finneganYes John we need to freshen things up. Blackpool sent a message last week playing 3 up front away from home. We should go the same this week with Saha and Felli and Tim behind them Art Heit and Pen could provide the ammo. We have to send a message to the likes of Harry the Totters boss who didnt even mention Everton in his predictions to challenge for top 4 COYBs

Neil SteeleTim says "Quality football is always fantastic but working hard is more important." Pretty much confirms what I thought, playing football is an after-thought in our preparations...that much was evident at Blackburn. He also says we need to "mix it up". Do we ever do anything but?? For once, just for once, why don't we pick all our best FOOTBALLERS, put them out on the park against Wolves, and see what happens? If it backfires, i'll hold my hands up. This attritional "mix it up" hit and hope rubbish is really crushing my spirit though.

CRAIG WEILDINGI am certain there will be a resounding win and performance. Then hopefully all the moaning about who has and who has not been picked will stop. Whoever plays is up to the boss, After all Moyesiah knows waaaaay more than us. COYB.

John HauI hope you are right and we give a great performance, and yea we do have alot of quality player to pick a team from, but yet we still pick one of our weakest side to play against Blackburn, base on our pre-season that was the case, so, a improvement on effort side of things is a must if we are to get three points off Wolves, but I feel we need to bring some new faces into the starting line-up to freshen things up!
