Becks Eyes More Goals
Jermaine Beckford wants to add to the brace he grabbed at Preston
Jermaine Beckford hopes there are plenty more goals to come after his brace at Preston.
The two second-half goals he netted in the Blues' 3-0 win were his first since signing for Everton earlier this summer.
The striker, who boasted a fabulous goalscoring record at former club Leeds, is desperate to transfer that reputation into the Premier League.
He told Evertonian magazine: "It is always nice to get the first one out of the way and get the pressure off.
"Hopefully I will be able to get a few more in pre-season and carry the form on."
Both Beckford's goals at Deepdale were well taken, the first a composed finish and the second an expertly-executed volley.
"It was a great cross from Louis and I just peeled off and volleyed it in," he recalled.
"The reception from the fans was amazing, I can't wait to play the first game at Goodison now."
Jermaine Beckford is the main interview in the next edition of Evertonian which is out on 6 August. In it he talks about settling into life at Finch Farm, meeting his new team-mates and why he's been so impressed by new strike partner Louis Saha.

Lee SimpsonIm optimistic about everything thats happening at Everton now. the squad we have now will shock an awful lot of people next season and although I have enjoyed uefa cup matches. Not being in it this season will make a big difference and I can see Everton reaching another final and giving the top 4 a real go this season. There isnt a word for what Moyes has done with Everton since he arrived.
