JAN MUCHA has finally completed his move to Everton from Legia Warsaw

The Slovakia international goalkeeper was secured on a pre-contract in January and officially became an Everton player yesterday when his contract at Legia expired.

The 27-year-old helped Slovakia reach the last 16 of the World Cup in his country’s first ever appearance at the tournament. After finishing second in Group F behind Paraguay, Slovakia were knocked out by Holland, 2-1.

Mucha played in each of Slovakia’s four games in South Africa and will now take an extended break before linking up with his new teammates after Everton’s pre-season tour of Australia.

The former Inter Bratislava and MSK Zilina stopper joins new signings Jermaine Beckford, Joao Silva and Magaye Gueye at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile Tim Cahill is waiting for his team-mates in Australia.

The Everton squad will arrive Down Under later today and Cahill is excited by the prospect of playing for his club on home soil.

“I think it is fantastic that Everton are going to Australia,” he said.

“It is fantastic for Australian football as well as Everton.

“Over in Australia there’s a massive following because there’s a lot of Everton supporters out there. This is also a great chance to visit the country and a great opportunity for Everton.

“I think the Australian fans will be excited about Everton’s visit.”

Cahill will miss Everton’s first game against Sydney FC but is expected to figure against Melbourne Heart and Brisbane Roar.

Daily Express

Everton have given a five-year contract to 19-year-old striker Magaye Gueye, who joined in a £900,000 move from Strasbourg.

brennan finneganBIG signings should not be unrealistic at EVERTON FC Arguably the best manager in the Prem should not continue scraping the barrel to find players He has already highly achieved in the bargain basement, as been pointed out but where would we be now if DM had some money to spend The likes of Man Chity, Totters and Vile who have always been in Evertons shadow now can spend big. Ok we could get messed up like those REDS up the road, but I believe it worth taking the chance and trying to get a good investor ANYONE LISTENING UP THERE

Drew ShortisAll these expectation of big signings are unrealistic. Everton just don't have the cash unless they go into even bigger debt. Our priority should be getting Pienaar and Arteta to sign new deals. If they do and our squad stay relatively injury free we can have a great season. I agree with the post that pointed out Moyes ability to pick up bargain players who went under the radars of the bigger clubs! That said, I would love to see Landon Donovan come back!

Friday 2nd July 23:45 Report Comment

Stephen MosleyI think everyone need to stop asking for big signings. Arteta and Pienaar were just a couple of mil. Lescott, Jags, Baines, Cahill all cost next to nothing. Have faith in Moysey and his scouts. IMWT COYBB!!!!

Friday 2nd July 21:38 Report Comment

brennan finneganSinging these young players is papering over the cracks Everton FC are in a position to move to a top three status. What they need is at least one quality experienced player which may encourage Pienaar and Art to sign extended contracts. Seen £15mill signing in the Times (Gueye mistake) and thought UNBELIVBABLE Sadly it was We need a BIG signing to progress Anyone listening up there

Friday 2nd July 20:40 Report Comment

Martin TurnerJust been looking at some Manny Fernandes video's and he is awesome on form. I believe Valencia are listening to offers for him. May well be worth a few million bid as even Inter Milan wanted him at Christmas but supposedly he failed his medical even though he played before and after it for Valencia? We certainly could do with his creativity and skill if Arteta goes. Go on Moyes go get Manny. COYB

darren allenI think we need to know what is going to happen with Peanuts..If he stays our mid is one to be feared and with strength/depth. If he goes, I would like to see us go for Simao or Aimar which I think is poss and could be cheap fix. Bit heavy on the strikers and does this mean DM is not planning on playing Loui on his own again and where does it leave Yak/Vaughn and Vic? Still need another quality cb. Wouldnt mind Hangeland or M Richards

Friday 2nd July 20:27 Report Comment

kevin burnsI think moyes seems to be building for the future with these young players he's bringing in. would like to see someone with a bit more experience, Ireland from city would be a good signing but after what happened with lescott don't think thats going to happen. heard some city fans saying yeah sell him to everton for 26m anyone else 10m, who says the manc's don't have a sense of humour.

Friday 2nd July 18:45 Report Comment

Paul Ellamhow about bidding for that elia of holland and hamburg? left winger and young - shouldnt be more than £15 million - the cash we can get from pienaar if he does go!

Paul Ellammoutinho and a first team regular striker are needed - someone like podolski or maybe keane???

Friday 2nd July 16:08 Report Comment

Paul MoranGo out now and buy Landon Donovan, he has great attitude, and would be a real hit, long term, at Goodison.

Friday 2nd July 15:48 Report Comment

Marios Kyriazishe was 900k

Friday 2nd July 15:11 Report Comment

chris caudwellI see what u mean Dan and i have to say i think moyes would knok that out of him and make him the model defender. the price is 900k, it wont be 15mil if it was it would be plasterd all over this site and on sky sports news. im hoping we can start strong and not crawl into the season like last year, if pienaar is going let him go if not great just decide quickly dont wanna be like lescot last year

Friday 2nd July 15:09 Report Comment

Paul HowellsYeah I'm of the opinion that the times reporter accidently missed the dot, that was my first thought and when reading the comments others clearly think so. I think Jose going on loan is good for the lad and the club, it gives his career a boost and lets us keep him in the long term while getting him game time in the short term. Regarding Arteta and Peanuts I hope the fact Mikky has gone to Oz is an indication he will stay and I think the reason its all gone quiet on the Pienaar front is he didnt have the world cup he was hoping for and has now realised his big money move is not likely to pull off. I like Pienaar and want him to stay, but only for the right reason and not if he is settling for us against his will because nobody "bigger" (as if there is such a club) has came in.

Friday 2nd July 15:04 Report Comment

Mikel ArreguiOh and I really like the way Everton is moving this summer, quickly and firmly. I think the only issues are Arteta resigning and trying to get Donovan (and maybe any other striker going out on loan, like Vaughan?) The Pienaar situation looks more blocked though but if he is in only for the money we could sell him and use the money to buy Donovan. Really looking forward to August!

Friday 2nd July 14:48 Report Comment

Mikel ArreguiGood luck Jose! I hope you'll have a good experience with the Latics that will help you to come back stronger for next season. However, is it me or do the papers have these kind of very different figures too often? Not good journalism at all!

Friday 2nd July 14:42 Report Comment

James WilkinsonI would seriously doubt he would be our equal record signing, and I would severely doubt we would have a spare 15mil lying around somewhere, so i would imagine, and I know it is 900K

Stephen Jones£900,000 or £15m??? Im confused

Friday 2nd July 13:27 Report Comment

Ryan McFarlaneSlightly different reports there. Was the guy £900,000 or £15M Somehow I reckon it was the former.

Friday 2nd July 13:19 Report Comment

Dan NallyAfter seeing him at the World Cup, I think Coentrao would be an absolute gem of a player to replace Pienaar with and he's only 22/23 I think? Pienaar is a quality player but by the looks of it he seems to be putting off signing a new contract so anyone that isn't loyal should go, before the Lescott saga happens again, I hope Arteta signs a new contract though cos he's our best player, been on the back of my shirt since he joined!!!

Friday 2nd July 12:17 Report Comment

So disappointedFair call then John, if he does go - I hope he signs rather than see's out his contract if he stays though - agree that someone like Moutinho would be decent. Rumours of Ireland from city being available would prove an interesting replacement for him too.

Friday 2nd July 12:11 Report Comment

John DYeah it wasnt an attack on Dan, no offence intended. I honestly dont think Peanuts will stay which is unfortunate because he is a quality player, but Moutinho would be a good replacement should he decided to leave.

Friday 2nd July 12:07 Report Comment

David Ryanid say the times was ment to put a dot in the middle 1.5mil ibstead of 15mil.it will b nice 2 see baxter get playing time.he could b class 4 us when he comes back.roumours of pienaar and arteta seam to have died thankfully.

Friday 2nd July 11:43 Report Comment

So disappointedSorry Chris - don't agree with you about Taylor, I don't like all the theatrics of pretending the ball has hit you in the face or the chest when he had blatantly handballed it (going back to when Newcastle were in the premiership). Appreciate he was a young lad but that isn't the type of behaviour we come to expect from our players and Mucha better take heed to. Bill - are you suggesting a central defensive partnership of Jags and Rodders there? Think that is eventually what will happen but this season might be a bit soon for England... John definitely did miss your sarcasm Dan and why pay £15 million for Moutinho John - if we keep Mikky and Peanuts with Fellaini and Cahill and Billy in there too there'd be no place for him in our midfield ahead of any of those names. I truly believe if we can keep everybody fit we will really push this year for a top 4, no team can boast our team spirit.

Friday 2nd July 11:35 Report Comment

chris caudwellAnyone else think the someone isnt happy to be working at the times? that isnt a mistake that is easily made, good to see baxter is getting some experiance in i just hope he doesn't get too attached. I think it is time to swoop for a defender, Steven Taylor would be nice

Friday 2nd July 11:22 Report Comment

Bill RollinsonI think that was a woosh on John, Dan.Yes got to agree with you there, good experience for the lad, Moysies putting a decent squad together, I feel a good challenge for the top 4 if we can keep them fit long enough. Looking around the Prem and in light of the farce that was the World Cup we could have 3 of the next England back 4 in our team.

Friday 2nd July 11:19 Report Comment

Milin Chandrabaxter could have got a place in goodison ............playing him here will be better

Friday 2nd July 10:50 Report Comment

Dan NallyJohn D, did you not feel a little bit of sarcasm from my previous comment? Evidently it was lost on you.

Friday 2nd July 09:42 Report Comment

John D£15 mil is not a bargain, we could have got the likes of Moutinho with that kind of money so i think that the Express' figure is probably what the figure was. Cracking signing though highly rated

Friday 2nd July 09:36 Report Comment

Paul Fearontimes says £15 mil, express says £900K bit of a difference, glad that jose will get some first team experience

Friday 2nd July 09:26 Report Comment

Dan NallyFIFTEEN MILLION POUNDS FOR GUEYE? What a bargain!!! Good news about Baxter though, I reckon he's gonna love playing week-in week-out, then come back to us for 2011/12 season in rich form and fire us to the Champions League Final after winning the league this season!
