Mucha's Merseyside Arrival
Everton's summer signing spends his first day at Finch Farm.
Jan Mucha has revealed Arsenal's keeper Lukasz Fabianski was behind his decision to join Everton this summer.
The new Blues recruit is due to officially become an Everton player in June, making the switch from Legia Warsaw.
The pair became friends during their time together at the Polish club prior to Fabianski’s move to the Gunners in 2007.
"We are still good friends and we have kept in touch since his transfer to Arsenal," Mucha exclusively told evertontv in his first interview at Goodison.
"I played with him for two years in Legia. I actually consulted with Fabianski before I signed with Everton and he recommended the Club to me."
The 27-year-old has already met his new teammates at the Finch Farm training complex and has been impressed with how the Blues work.
"The family atmosphere at the Club appealed to me and the people all seemed nice. Of course, the chance to play in the Premier League was a big attraction too.
"It was very nice at the training ground," he continued. "I felt very welcome there so everything is positive.
"I have done some practising with Tim Howard. He is a good lad."
The keeper, who twice won the Slovakian championship with MÅ K Snina, is now due to meet up with his national side for the World Cup.
The tournament in South Africa will be the first time Slovakia have appeared but Mucha is also thinking ahead to next season.
"I am looking forward to playing at Goodison Park. I have been inside the stadium when it's empty to have a look and it is great."

Alexander JamesSeems like a great bloke, it'll be nice for Tim to have some good cover, but I doubt he'll be pinching the starting spot - time will tell I guess :)

When i score we riotLooking forward to seeing Mucha at the world cup, also really excited about the GK position getting a little bit more aggressive. The top clubs occasionally switch keepers for a reason = that competition for every spot in the XI, and i think Mucha is much more likely to give Tim Howard a run for his money than Nash and Ruddy have been doing! No bad words about them, but seems Ruddy is going to Scotland, and Nash is out of contract soon, isn't he? Mucha is younger than Tim and is definetly gonna be seen; often the keepers of the weaker teams in the WC get a lot of attention, especially if they do well. Even more if they're shit, haha... Just gotta say, i'm really stoked that we now have both our top keepers competing for that one highest of football honours. That is CLASS. Welcome!

Mark LynchWelcome to the Family Jan, i hope that you settle in well and prove to be a success, ........ I would also like to take this opportunity to Wish Bazza all the very best, as usual with this site when there is news of players/staff departing there never seems to be an option for us to post our comments, , there is a statement saying that Bazza has left the club but absolutley no reason for his departure? Come on Everton we are the peoples club so let the people know!!!! Good Luck Mr Rathbone.
