Evertonians Zip Into Action
Daredevil football fans scale Goodison in aid of local charities.
The Everton Foundation helped 180 local daredevils take part in a unique Zip Slide across Goodison Park on Sunday to help raise thousands of pounds for charities across Liverpool.
Fundraisers ‘zipped’ from the Top Balcony in the Main Stand to the Paddock in the Bullens Road Stand in aid of the Blues’ charity The Everton Foundation and also its partner charities Liverpool Unites, the Club’s nominated charity for this season, Alder Hey Hospital, Clatterbridge Your Cancer Centre and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
All monies raised by The Everton Foundation from this event will be used to fund vital community programmes which tackle health, education, social inclusion and equality issues that effect people of all ages living on Merseyside.
In addition to the adrenaline rush from the Zip Wire, which was organised by The Everton Foundation, participants were treated to an amazing bird’s eye view of Goodison, one of the most famous football grounds in the UK.
Denise Barrett-Baxendale, CEO of The Everton Foundation, said: “Today’s fundraising event has been a great success and I would like to thank everyone involved from the organisers to the participants and of course the people who have donated.
“All of the monies raised will be used to fund a variety of essential programmes delivered by The Everton Foundation, which help the most deprived and disadvantaged members of our community.”
