TIM CAHILL EXCLUSIVE
Tim Cahill on his return, meeting Rocky and taking on Wigan.
Tim Cahill won't be pulling any punches when Everton take on Wigan this weekend.
The Toffees travel to the JJB Stadium on Sunday, looking to build on the 1-1 draw against Reading last weekend.
Cahill made his return from a knee injury in that game, when Sylvester Stallone was the guest of honour at Goodison Park.
And the Aussie was delighted to meet the Rocky actor, especially given his own unique celebration.
"I brought some boxing gloves in and stuck them on straight away and gave him a few shimmies and asked him if he wanted a piece of me!" Cahill told evertonTV.
"I am a bit disappointed I didn't get a goal so I could show him my celebration."
After picking up a fourth yellow card of the season, the seven-goal midfielder will be walking the disciplinary tightrope against the Latics - with suspension from the Anfield derby looming if a further caution is accrued.
He has no regrets about his attritional style of play during the Reading game.
"It's one more yellow card and I'm suspended but I think for my own peace of mind it was right that I went in for those challenges," said Cahill.
"I'd be cheating the lads if I didn't but I'm pleased I put myself about and did the job."
Tim believes a similar battling attitude will be required on Sunday.
"The thing about Wigan is that they work hard like us. They've got the same emphasis on the way they play.
"They're ball winners so they are exactly the same as us. It won't be a pretty game, but I think we need to go back to the way we used to play: stop teams scoring, get the ugly side of the game out the way and hopefully nick a goal.
