Bloomfield Road, to be precise, and the sixth port of call on Everton's jam-packed pre-season schedule.
And as we set off from Goodison on the M6, as if on cue, the sun began to peak through the clouds and set the perfect scene for the clash with the Seasiders.
Well...almost.
A quick stop at a well-known (to evertonfc.com anyway!) fish and chip establishment on the seafront saw Graeme Sharp attract a bit of attention from passing Blues fans before we set off for our intended destination.
A rather disappointing lack of internet connection presented a few problems in the build-up to kick-off, but the look of fear on Graeme Sharp’s face as he realised he’d be commentating from the heavens more than made up for the hassle.
The television gantry, situated directly opposite the pressbox provided quite the entertainment... for all the wrong reasons.
Sharpy raised his concerns straight away when he was informed of his commentating position, at the top of what can only be described as a rather unstable looking set of scaffolding!
But though fearing for their safety, our other commentator Darren Griffiths and Sharpy ventured up the rickety stairwell to prepare for the game.
Understandably, they wanted to get down to safe ground as soon as possible but professionalism prevailed and extended highlights of the game are now available on evertonTV.
There are also exclusive post-match interviews with David Moyes and captain Phil Neville, plus highlights of all Everton’s other pre-season games.
