Everton have been drawn against Reading in the third round of the FA Youth Cup.
The Blues have been handed the tough away tie for their opening fixture in the competition, which must be played before Saturday, December 17.
Neil Dewsnip's young charges, who were knocked out by Tottenham at the fifth round stage last term, are in fine form this season in the Academy Premier League.
They have lost just twice in their opening 12 league outings and will be keen to extend that fine form into the Youth Cup, a competition the club last won in 1998.
The Blues faced Reading on the opening day of the Academy league season, drawing 0-0 at Netherton.
