Everton will field a reserve side mixed with youth and experience for tonight's second string meeting with Leeds United at Southport's Haig Avenue, kick-off 7.00pm.
Defender David Weir is back in action following his sending off against Blackburn Rovers last week and four other players with Premiership experience join him in the starting 11.
Richard Wright gets another chance to improve on his match fitness after returning to the bench for the Portsmouth game on Saturday, as does Nick Chadwick who, despite only playing on nine occasions, remains the reserves top scorer with eight goals.
Lee Carsley and James McFadden were both unused substitutes for the Pompey victory and they are handed a reserve role in a bid to ensure they are in contention for Saturday's trip to Leicester.
