Players' Player Of The Season

Phil Jagielka's first award of the evening was the Players' Player of the Season.

The defender was a popular choice amongst the Blues' squad and took to the stage on crutches to receive the award from Phil Neville.

Jagielka would later return to the stage to pick up the Player of the Season award but was delighted to be noticed by his peers.

"It's voted for by the lads so it's nice to win," he said.

"I've never won a Players' Player award before so it's nice for that reason as well."

Various members of the Blues squad have mentioned Jagielka's exemplary attitude off the field since his arrival from Sheffield United.

And his on the pitch performances spoke for themselves before injury cruelly struck.
