The People

Everton finally look set to land Manuel Fernandes from Valencia for £6million.

The Portuguese ace has been told he can leave the Spanish club by new boss Unai Emery, having spent most of last season on loan at the Blues.

Goodison chief David Moyes has been desperate to sign the 22-year-old midfielder for two seasons and is in talks with Valencia about bringing him in on a permanent basis.

Moyes tried to sign Fernandes when the player left Benfica a year ago, but thought his £10m price tag was too high.

At the cut-down price, Valencia have told Everton the deal must be done by June 20 and Moyes is confident he has finally snared his man.

The Sunday Times

Joao Moutinho (Portugal)
Cost: £8m
Would suit: Liverpool, Everton
Quick-thinking, nice feet, ambitious, the midfielder is in the vanguard of Sporting Lisbon’s gifted young batch of footballers. Good performances in the Portuguese Superliga are not kept quiet for long these days.

News of the World

Everton are ready to increase their bid for Bristol City teenager Christian Ribeiro to £750,000.

The Toffees have tabled an offer of £500,000 for the 18-year-old defender who has yet to make an appearance for the Championship side.

Ribeiro has played for the Wales Under-21 squad and is nicknamed 'The Neath Nutter'.

Everton boss David Moyes switched to Ribeiro after losing out on his international team-mate Aaron 'Rambo' Ramsey, who joined Arsenal from Cardiff.

Scott LangI Agree , Manny would be a good signing , he as everything going for him , young , talented , and alot more we need midfielder's with creativity once the ball is in our posession , which sometimes we lack , maybe his 2nd spell wasnt as good as the 1st , BUT we all know he has the ability to be a great asset , ARTETA , CAHILL , FERNANDES , maybe WRIGHT-PHILLIP , a great mixture of talent , and creativity ...

Dilen Soobenit is true to sat that manny did not play that well this season but hi is still young...he will become a good signing for us. 6 mil is a good price.

Andrew OoiI always fancy manny.. very creative & able to do long distance shooting. Though he's inconsistent last season as it may be part of the fitting in process, i believe next season he'll improve even more.. remember when arteta first join?

Gazdalf GoTFernandes is vital to the future of our great club. His form was off last season as how can he be expected to focus when his future is in the balance on so many levels. If 6 mill is the price then our Mr Moyes will pay it in a heartbeat. Let us get Arshavin and Moutinho also. Sell no one. 30 mill all in. Job done. 4th spot is ours if we want to finish that low. chris cookGet Fernandas back for good Moyes its so hard to find such a class midfielder for £6million he will becocome class once he has a stable club not going out anywhere on loan he will really shine! like he did in his first season for us! let him on are free-kicks and they will us be hitting the back of the net. And if we can bring in Joao Moutinho then there is no stopping us in europe next season!

Dennis SequerahSomehow I think Fernandez would be a better buy than Mountinho, he had already spent a season at Goodison and would gel better with the rest of the team...
