The People's Club Award
The People's Club Award recognises someone who epitomises Everton's mantra.
The two previous winners of the prize, Alan Ball and Brian Labone were fan favourites and perfect gentlemen.
And the same can certainly be said of the latest recipient - Dave Hickson.
The Cannonball Kid is a well-known and much-loved character at Goodison Park, a fact highlighted by the tremendous amount of good wishes he received whilst in ill-health earlier this season.
Thankfully, Dave recovered well and received a splendid ovation when he took to the pitch to thank the Everton fans on Boxing Day.
In his playing days, the favourite of the '50s hit 111 goals in 243 appearances for the club in two spells at Goodison.
After picking up his award, Dave told evertonTV: "I had no idea at all! It must be a sign that I am getting old if I am getting awards.
"Everton is the People's Club and this award is great. It was fantastic to receive a standing ovation - especially considering there were people there who've never seen me play."
