Thursday’s Daily Telegraph reports Everton are “hopeful” of completing the transfer Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes on a permanent basis from Barcelona.

The 25-year-old spent the 2018-19 campaign on loan at Goodison Park. The paper suggests the Blues are favourites to sign Gomes amid rumoured interest from West Ham United.

The Liverpool Echo reports Leighton Baines could sign a new 12-month contract with the Toffees next week. The left-back’s current deal expires at the end of June.

The Daily Mail believes Bundesliga club Schalke are keen on signing Everton Academy graduate Jonjoe Kenny on a season-long loan.

The publication speculates Premier League sides Burnley and Crystal Palace may also be lining up moves for the right-back.

The Daily Star, meanwhile, reflects on Richarlison’s impressive goalscoring display for Brazil in their Copa America warm-up clash against Qatar on Wednesday night.

As well as opening the scoring in a 2-0 win for the five-time world champions, the Everton forward set up Gabriel Jesus for Brazil’s second goal.
