The Liverpool Echo
says Everton are hoping defender Leighton Baines will pencil a new one-year deal with the Club.
According to the paper, Blues boss Marco Silva is keen to keep hold of the 34-year-old left-back, who is out of contract this month.
The Echo also points to an interview in Portuguese publication A Bola in which Famalicão’s chief executive officer Miguel Ribeiro thanks Silva and Everton Director of Football Marcel Brands for allowing Joao Pedro Sousa to depart the Club.
Sousa, Silva's long-serving assistant manager, left the Toffees this weekend to take over the newly-promoted Primeira Liga outfit.
The Echo believes former Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham United forward Luis Boa Morte, the current assistant of Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, could be in line to replace Sousa at Goodison Park.
The Daily Star, via Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb, claims Roma have rejected a £24million Everton offer for 21-year-old Turkey winger Cengiz Under, while the Metro reports the Blues and Manchester United are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also said to be interested in 24-year-old Rabiot, who is set to leave PSG when his contract expires this month and will be available on a free transfer.
