Everton Duo Earn England Call-Ups For Nations League

Jordan Pickford and Michael Keane are both included in the 27-man England squad which will attempt to be crowned inaugural Nations League winners next month.

England tackle Holland on 6 June in the four-team tournament's second semi-final, 24 hours after hosts Portugal face Switzerland.

Centre-back Keane, revitalised under Everton manager Marco Silva this term, was recalled by England boss Gareth Southgate back in November following 13 months out of the international picture.

He completed 90 minutes in both the Three Lions' opening European Championship qualifying matches, victories in March over Czech Republic and Montenegro, where the former Manchester United player scored his first England goal.

While 26-year-old Keane targets an eighth England appearance against Holland, Everton goalkeeper Pickford is poised to add to the 17 England caps he has won following his debut in November 2017.

Pickford was ever-present in England’s Nations League qualifying campaign. Southgate's team beat Croatia at Wembley in November to pip Spain to top spot in a three-team group.

Holland, meanwhile, advanced from a pool featuring Germany and world champions France.

England meet the Dutch at Guimares’s Estadio D. Afonso Henriques, with the prize on offer a final spot against European champions Portugal or Switzerland, 35 miles south in Porto on 9 June.

The losing semi-finalists will contest a third-placed play-off in Guimares, also on June 9.
