Tuesday’s Liverpool Echo highlights statistics that show Everton’s progress over the past 12 months.

Marco Silva’s maiden campaign in charge saw the Blues win more points, score more goals and concede fewer times than in 2017-18.

Additionally, the Toffees had more shots, created a greater number of chances and completed more passes in the attacking third.

There was also a significant improvement in Everton’s record against the top six teams, with the Blues collecting eight more points against those sides than last season.

The Echo also speculates River Plate midfielder Santiago Sosa could be a potential transfer target for Everton.

The 19-year-old is part of Argentina's Under-20 World Cup squad.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, reports the Toffees have been “offered the chance” to sign Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario from Inter Milan.

The 26-year-old, who has won 43 caps for Portugal, is rumoured to be valued at around £15 million.
