The Liverpool Echo reflects on Everton’s impressive performance in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
The local read reports the Blues’ strong finish to the season - which saw them collect 21 points from their final 11 matches - will give supporters added “hope and belief” ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.
The same publication carries quotes from manager Marco Silva, who explained how fans’ loyal backing has helped to inspire the team’s fine run of form.
The travelling Evertonians at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday gave Silva and his players a rousing ovation at the end of the game
“When they [the fans] realised how important they can be for us and when we are together, fighting, we can be stronger and they did that,” he said.
“They supported the team and when they can give us, and me, this reception it is why you are doing everything this season.”
The Daily Star, meanwhile, speculates Manchester United could be lining up a bid for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye.
