Coleman Leads Ireland To Crucial Qualifying Success

Seamus Coleman captained Republic of Ireland to a vital 1-0 European Championship qualifying victory over Georgia on Tuesday night.

Right-back Coleman’s team led when Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane curled in a free-kick 10 minutes before half-time at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

The Georgians made Mick McCarthy’s team sweat before they could celebrate three points to add to those Ireland claimed when beating Gibraltar in their opening qualifier on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Darren Randolph made a fine save on the stroke of half-time and the visitors smashed a post four minutes from time.
