Everton will allow defender Mason Holgate to leave the Club on loan in the January transfer window, according to Tuesday’s copy of the Liverpool Echo.

The 22-year-old has not been in the matchday squad for the past nine fixtures and is said to have been given the opportunity to leave on a short-term deal. The Echo also suggests Oumar Niasse is interesting Premier League side Cardiff City.

Former Blues left-back Michael Ball mulls over a potential loan move for Kieran Dowell, with Scottish giants Rangers said to be keen on taking the young midfielder for the remainder of the campaign.

The local read also looks at Everton’s tough fixture list over the Christmas period, and covers the story of Phil Jagielka meeting Jack McLinden, who experienced the buzz of leading the team out via the first ever ‘virtual mascot’ AV1 robot carried out by the Toffees skipper last April against Newcastle.
