Tuesday’s local and national newspapers reflect on Lucas Digne’s stunning injury-time equaliser in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Watford at Goodison Park on Monday night.

The Daily Telegraph describes the Frenchman’s strike as “inch-perfect”, while the Daily Mirror hails his “wonderfully curled effort”.

The Liverpool Echo features Marco Silva, who said the goal was a “fantastic moment” for Digne.

"He showed not just his quality but his personality as a player when he took that decision [to take the free-kick],” said Silva.

The Everton manager admitted, however, the Blues “lost focus” in conceding two quickfire second-half goals.

“After that we played with more heart and quality to try to change the result,” he added.

The local read also carries quotes from Jordan Pickford, who highlighted the squad’s character to fight back to secure a point.

“It shows our resilience as a squad and we’re confident we will keep getting better and better,” he said.
