What The Papers Say - October 29

Monday’s Daily Express carries quotes from Marco Silva, with the Everton boss insisting the Blues “deserved more” from their clash at Manchester United on Sunday, having carved out a host of chances.

In the Liverpool Echo, meanwhile, Silva urges his team to be more clinical in front of goal.

“We created four or five chances but only scored from the penalty and we have the quality to be better in those moments,” he said.

“If we had been more assertive [with our chances] we would have had a different result – we did enough to achieve that.”

Also in the Echo, Jordan Pickford explains how Everton showed their “never-say-die attitude” at Old Trafford, as they fought until the final whistle to get back on level terms.

“We dug in as a group and we almost got something out of the game,” he said. “Even when we were 2-0 down we were still creating chances, so you’ve got to take positives from that. We had a great attitude as a set of lads today – we never say die and we were unfortunate.”
