Jordan Pickford’s performance in England’s Nations League win in Spain features across local and national newspapers.

The Everton glovesman had a hand in two of the Three Lions’ three goals in Seville, with a number of national editions including the Independent, the Daily Mirror and Daily Mail looking at the qualities he brings to Gareth Southgate’s side, most notably his distribution.

Meanwhile, the Liverpool Echo continue its series on Bernard, with Tuesday’s instalment looking at his time with the Brazil national team and his home city of Belo Horizonte.

The local read also analyses how James McCarthy – who is still working his way back to full fitness after a broken leg – could fit into Marco Silva’s plans.

And Michael Ball also uses his weekly column to assess how fellow absentees Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina add “brilliant competition” to the Blues’ ranks.
