WATCH: Bantams Edge Blues In Tense Shootout

Ten-man Everton were beaten in a high-quality penalty shootout at Valley Parade on Tuesday as their Checkatrade Trophy group campaign began with defeat to Bradford City.

The young Blues had led through Bassala Sambou's fine solo effort until the dying seconds of the game, when George Miller stabbed in an equaliser from close range.

That sent the contest to spot-kicks and, after 10 successful penalties in a row, Manasse Mampala saw his effort cruelly cannon off the crossbar, allowing Eliot Goldthorp to win it for the Yorkshiremen.
