Everton’s first Premier League home game of the 2018-19 season will see the return of Main Club Sponsor SportPesa’s popular ‘Kits For Africa’ campaign.
Now in its third year, the kit donation campaign supports underprivileged grassroots football teams across the African continent.
Getting underway at the Blues fixture against Southampton on Saturday August 18, the initiative will see SportPesa and Everton work together to collect kits donated by fans, players and members of the public at Goodison Park before distributing them throughout Africa to less privileged individuals.
Collection bins will be signposted around the ground for fans to drop off unwanted kit and sportswear. Fans can also donate kits at Everton’s home games against Huddersfield Town on Saturday September 1 and West Ham United on Sunday 16.
Last season’s campaign was a huge success with almost 6,000 kits donated by Evertonians and fans from SportPesa’s club partners Arsenal, Southampton and Hull City.
This season, once all kit has been collected from the participating clubs, it will be given to grassroots teams across Africa.
SportPesa has a continued commitment to building and developing grassroots football in the countries where they operate and, since the company’s inception in 2014, they have quickly established themselves as a community focused organisation. The Kits For Africa campaign is part of this pledge to transforming lives in Africa.
