Blues Team Up With Stagecoach

Everton Football Club has teamed up with Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire to offer Blues a reliable and efficient way of travelling across the North West and to showcase their 919 matchday service to Evertonians.

As part of Stagecoach’s 2,200 daily routes across the UK there will now be an express service for Evertonians on a matchday.

The company’s 919 express bus service will run direct from Liverpool City Centre to Goodison Park – with Season Ticket Members benefiting from free travel for the home opener against Southampton this weekend.

With every Season Ticket snapped up and match tickets in high demand, home league fixtures are expected to sell out throughout the season and supporters are encouraged to plan how they travel to and from matches. The 919 service will run at regular intervals from two hours before kick-off to ensure arrival at the ground for the start of the match.

Stagecoach is one of the largest bus operators in the country, with express and local services nationwide. The services provided by Stagecoach play an important role in helping people in rural and urban areas access work, education, health centres, shopping and leisure activities.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Everton Season Ticket Members travelling to the Club’s opening home fixture of the Premier League season on Saturday, August 18 can use the service for free by showing their Season Card to the driver.

The 919 service will depart from St John’s Lane (opposite Lime Street Station) and will be ready to leave from Walton Lane, opposite Everton One, 10 minutes after the final whistle. Using public transport will be the easiest, most reliable and most efficient way to get to Goodison Park.

To help launch the new service, former midfielder Leon Osman went undercover to surprise a group of Evertonians who volunteered to take part in the test-run of the route. Dressed as an older gentleman, the unrecognisable Osman played Noel Mason, the worst passenger ever.

Mark Rollings, Head of Partnership Management at Everton, said: “We look forward to working alongside Stagecoach in promoting their services, including the 919 bus.

“This is a great initiative for supporters, which will provide a safe, reliable and trustworthy way for Blues to come to the match. Supporters from all over the world come to Goodison Park and this non-stop service from Liverpool City Centre offers fans an affordable transport option.”

Rob Jones, Managing Director of Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, said: “This is about giving fans the chance to leave the car at home and get to the match without the added stress that comes with driving to the game.

“Stagecoach provides great value travel options for supporters of all ages. Fans can get to and from Goodison Park with ease this season using a dayrider ticket that gives unlimited day travel across Merseyside. And with contactless payment methods on board, bus travel has never been more straightforward.

“We look forward to working with Everton Football Club throughout the season and welcoming thousands of Evertonians on our buses across the year.”

Throughout the course of the season, Evertonians will be updated on offers and discounts provided by Stagecoach, which start with under 19s being able to travel across Stagecoach bus services for seven days for just £7.
