Everton Trio Help England Earn Point Against Brazil

Everton trio Megan Finnigan, Chloe Kelly and Taylor Hinds all played a part as England took a big step towards the last 16 of the Under-20 World Cup by securing a 1-1 draw with Brazil.

Finnigan and Kelly both managed the full 90 minutes in Dinan, France, while Hinds came off the bench for the final seven minutes.

Having netted in England’s 3-1 win against holders North Korea on Sunday, Manchester City’s Georgia Stanway was on target once again to open the scoring from the penalty spot just 11 minutes in.

However, Brazil levelled late on when Ariadina Borges’ long-range shot beat goalkeeper Sandy MacIver and nestled in the bottom corner.

Mo Marley’s young Lionesses play their final group game against Mexico on Sunday.

There are four groups of four at the tournament, with the top two teams from each progressing to the quarter-final stage.
