Everton are linked with two midfielders in Monday’s newspapers.

The Daily Mirror claims the Blues maintain an interest in Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, alongside Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Serie A sides AC Milan, Sampdoria and Juventus are also reported to be assessing Wilshere’s situation, with the 26-year-old out of contract at Emirates Stadium and yet to sign a new deal.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport in Italy suggests the Blues, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are all monitoring Inter Milan’s Uruguay international Matias Vecino.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder impressed during his nation’s 1-0 World Cup win over Egypt on Friday.

On the subject of Russia, the Liverpool Echo reveals how the fit-again Gylfi Sigurdsson ran over 11 kilometres during Iceland’s 1-1 draw with Argentina on Saturday, and also previews what is widely expected to be Jordan Pickford’s World Cup debut when England take on Tunisia in Volgograd this evening.

Finally, the same paper assesses the weekend performances of two players linked with the Toffees this summer, Mexico forward Hirving Lozano and Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic.
