Everton Announces Two Away Pre-Season Friendlies

Everton will take on Bury and Blackburn Rovers in pre-season friendlies next month.

Marco Silva’s Blues are to face Bury at Gigg Lane on Wednesday July 18, before travelling to Ewood Park to play Blackburn on Thursday July 26, both 7.45pm kick-offs.

The Club has already confirmed a first-team friendly against Spanish La Liga side Valencia at Goodison Park on Saturday August 4.

Blackburn secured promotion back to the Championship last season after Tony Mowbray’s side finished runners-up in League One. The Blues last faced Rovers in a pre-season game in July 2013, coming away from Ewood Park with a 3-1 victory. Before that, the two sides met in a 1-1 Premier League draw at Goodison in January 2012.

Meanwhile, Bury are aiming for promotion back to League One in 2018/19 after suffering relegation last term.

Everton’s previous match at Gigg Lane was for a pre-season fixture in July 2012, which saw the Blues run out 4-1 winners. The last competitive meeting between the two clubs was a two-legged League Cup second-round tie in 1988 when the Toffees emerged 5-2 victors on aggregate.

Ticket details for the friendlies will be announced in due course.
