Jordan Pickford reveals in Thursday's newspapers that he will continue to play out from the back so long as it serves England well.

The Everton shot-stopper features in a number of national editions including the Daily Star and the Daily Telegraph that he will always be confident playing as a ‘sweeper keeper’ and is pleased his game fits in with Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate’s plans.

Pickford also tells the Daily Mail he hopes to do the England number one shirt justice, a jersey he says has “massive history”.

Elsewhere, the Telegraph believes new Blues boss Marco Silva will look to keep Morgan Schneiderlin, while the Daily Mirror speculates that Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop is a target for the Portuguese.

The Liverpool Echo looks at Gylfi Sigurdsson’s efforts to be fit for this summer’s World Cup, having been confirmed in Iceland’s squad for the tournament.

And Kieran Dowell tells the Nottinghamshire Post that he enjoyed his time on loan with Nottingham Forest during the 2017/18 campaign.
