Marcel Brands features in Monday’s Liverpool Echo, with the Everton Director of Football speaking of his desire to “build a structure behind the scenes, not just for one year but for five, six, 10 years".
Brands added that he thinks he will “fit in very well in a family club” and that making Evertonians proud is the “most important thing he wants to achieve”.
The Echo also carries quotes from Marco Silva, who says he is convinced Everton have the correct framework to drive the Club forward.
Speaking about the Club’s transfer policy, Silva said it is important to “work together with our sporting director, with our owner – a fantastic person who will for sure give us support as a club to improve – and our chairman as well”.
The Echo also reflects on England Under-21s’ Toulon Tournament triumph. Everton youngster Kieran Dowell hit the winning goal as the Young Lions beat Mexico 2-1 in the final.
Jonjoe Kenny and Callum Connolly also started in the final, while Tom Davies was on the bench.
Monday’s Daily Mail carries a feature on Jordan Pickford, with quotes from former team-mate George Honeyman and former Sunderland academy boss Kevin Ball.
Honeyman speaks of the Everton goalkeeper’s infectious personality off the pitch, saying “he's the life and soul, no-one dislikes him”.
Ball, meanwhile, reveals, “Jordan wanted to be in the first-team at 17 and was pushy, but I liked that. He challenged me".
The Mail also speculates that Everton are interested in signing 21-year-old French defender Issa Diop.
The paper reports that West Ham United and Fulham are also tracking the Toulouse centre-back, who has been capped by France at Under-21 level.
