What The Papers Say - 25 May

Friday’s Liverpool Echo claims Everton "remain intent” on appointing Marco Silva as their new manager - but that a deal for the 40-year-old isn’t likely to be struck until next week.

The same paper also says Porto boss Sérgio Conceição is out of the running for the vacant Goodison hotseat after putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Portuguese champions until June 2020

New Director of Football Marcel Brands discusses his plans for the Blues’ Academy in the same paper, who also report Thursday's announcement that the Toffees will face the winners of the second SportPesa Super Cup at Goodison later this year.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports have linked the Toffees with Lille midfielder Yves Bissouma, however it is believed Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the 21-year-old Mali international.
