Gylfi Sigurdsson has been named in Iceland’s 23-man World Cup squad.
The midfielder has missed Everton’s past seven games with a knee injury but has been called up by Head Coach Heimir Hallgrímsson for the nation's first-ever World Cup finals.
Iceland are in the tough-looking Group D out in Russia this summer where they will face Ramiro Funes Mori’s Argentina, Croatia and Nigeria.
They secured their place at the tournament after topping Group I in European qualifying, pipping the Croatians to top spot in a group that also included Ukraine and Turkey.
