Wednesday’s Daily Mirror
claims Everton are one of three English clubs interested in Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure after the Ivorian hinted he would like to remain in the Premier League when he leaves the Etihad this summer.
The paper believes the Blues face competition from Burnley and newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers if they wish to land the 34-year-old former Barcelona man, who is set to end his eight-year stay with the champions when his contract expires at the end of next month.
Manager Sam Allardyce discusses Everton’s summer transfer plans in the Liverpool Echo, saying, “I think the top quality player is the only player for me, personally, that we should be looking at.”
The same paper also assesses how they see the immediate futures of a number of the Club's younger players.
Finally, the Daily Mail and Liverpool Echo are among a number of editions to suggest DC United are interested in taking Everton top scorer Wayne Rooney to the MLS.
