WATCH: Jeffers, Jevons & Southern Recall Youth Cup Win 20 Years On

Twenty years ago today, a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park saw Everton secure a 5-3 aggregate win over Blackburn Rovers to be crowned FA Youth Cup champions for the third time in their history.

Among the alumni of that great youth team squad were Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert, two players who went on to make 726 first-team appearances between them, Danny Cadamarteri and Richard Dunne.

Also key to the success of the side, however, were three people now back at Everton coaching the next generation of Blues hopefuls - Under-23s assistant boss Francis Jeffers and Academy coaches Phil Jevons and Keith Southern.

evertontv sat the trio down to recall their victory over the David Dunn-led Rovers, the camaraderie amongst Colin Harvey’s triumphant outfit, and how all three are now striving to help the modern-day Under-18s repeat their feat of two decades ago.
