Morgan Feeney has been named the Under-23s’ Player of the Season at the Club’s Dixies awards night.
The Academy graduate has been a regular in the young Blues’ backline until a March operation curtailed his campaign, with the 19-year-old skippering the side after taking over the armband from Jonjoe Kenny.
Feeney also made his first-team bow back in November when he came on as a substitute in the Europa League tie with Atalanta at Goodison Park, following it up with his first senior start when playing the full 90 minutes of the 3-0 win in Cyprus against Apollon Limassol a month later.
After collecting his accolade from Kenny and Under-23s coach David Unsworth, Feeney told evertonfc.com: “It has been a massive year for me, probably the most important year for me so far.
“I think I have done well. Next year, I really want to push on too. I still have a season ticket and I still go on Saturday’s - I’ll always be an Evertonian.”
Coach Unsworth added: “He has been fantastic ever since the first day of pre-season, he is whole-hearted, a typical Everton centre-half and loves a tackle!
“He loves putting his head in where others wouldn’t, he is a pleasure to coach, one of the good guys so that helps.”
The Under-23s Player of the Season Award was sponsored by AECS.
