Angharad James has won Everton Ladies’ Player of the Season award at Everton’s annual Dixies evening.
Head Coach Andy Spence and ex-Ladies goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis presented the Blue Girls midfielder with her trophy at the Club’s End of Season awards night at the Philharmonic Hall.
It marks a successful first season at the Club for the Wales international, who was a summer recruit prior to the Ladies’ return to Women’s Super League 1, the top tier of the women’s game.
After making her debut in the opening day Merseyside derby against Liverpool Ladies, James has established herself as a key component of the Toffees’ midfield, making 16 league and cup appearances this season.
She was pivotal to the Ladies reaching both the FA Women’s Cup semi-finals and the quarter-finals of the Continental Cup.
Speaking after receiving her award, James told evertonfc.com: “It's been a great season, the fact we turned full-time and I've settled in well.
“The girls are amazing and the facilities we get to use are brilliant. It's been a season for us to get used to WSL 1 and we are all determined to keep getting better as we know we can mix it with the best teams.”
The Everton Ladies Player of the Season award was sponsored by SportPesa.
