David Weir is the special guest on this week’s The Everton Show
- watch on demand from 5pm!
The former Blues skipper joins presenter Darren Griffiths at USM Finch Farm to discuss his career as a player, coach and manager, and look ahead to Saturday’s first ever Premier League visit to Huddersfield Town.
Weir explains how he took an unconventional route to professional football, why he signed for Walter Smith and how he fell in love with Everton from the moment he arrived at Bellefield, and reveals he’s still eager to get back into the game after his stint at Nottingham Forest ended earlier this season.
Also on this week’s show, we bring you some fantastic footage of the ‘virtual mascot’ that was the talk of football after being pioneered at the recent Goodison fixture against Newcastle United.
We also go behind the scenes at Formby Hall where the Everton in the Community Golf Day took place last week with, amongst others, Leon Osman, Alan Stubbs, Graeme Sharp and Graham Stuart out on the course.
And Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye previews the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium to take on David Wagner's Terriers.
