Jermaine Beckford netted his first Everton goal as five different scorers helped the Blues to a thumping League Cup victory over Saturday’s opponents Huddersfield Town back in August 2010.

Marouane Fellaini and Jack Rodwell had already struck when the former Leeds United striker opened his Goodison account from the penalty spot four minutes after the half-time break.

Huddersfield’s Lee Peltier then picked up a second yellow card for bringing down Seamus Coleman in the box - only for Dutchman John Heitinga to see his subsequent spot-kick saved by goalkeeper Ian Bennett.

However, substitute Louis Saha registered with his first touch on 77 minutes, before captain for the evening Leon Osman pounced five minutes from time to complete a comprehensive victory and confirm Everton's place in round three.
