Denny Helps England Under-18s Defeat Qatar

Everton’s Alex Denny and Lewis Gibson enjoyed success while on international duty with England Under-18s on Wednesday.

The young Lions enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 win over Qatar at St George’s Park, with Denny playing the final 12 minutes of the encounter and Gibson an unused substitute.

The Toffees Under-23s pair are next in action on Friday when former Everton Academy coach Neil Dewsnip’s side take on Argentina Under-18s in Manchester.

Meanwhile, Everton Under-23s striker Fraser Hornby started for Scotland Under-19s as they suffered a blow in their UEFA Euro 2018 qualifying campaign after a 3-0 defeat in Germany.

The young Scots face the Netherlands on Saturday, with Hornby potentially facing his Under-23s teammate Nathangelo Markelo. The defender was an unused substitute as the Dutch won 6-1 over Norway.
