'It Was My Grandparents Who Told Me All About The Great Dixie Dean'

The legendary tales of Dixie Dean, scorer of an unrivalled 383 goals in 433 appearances for Everton, have been passed down by generations of fans at Goodison Park.

Today, as part of our 2018/19 Season Ticket campaign entitled 'home', Evertonian Sean Campbell explains how he heard all about the great man from grandparents who were fortunate enough to witness the striker in action en route to netting his record 60 league goals in a single season in 1927/28.

Watch Sean's story below then tell us your own favourite memories of Everton and the Grand Old Lady by clicking here.

So far, we have heard moving tales of Toffees meeting their heroes, Blues savouring their first ever trips to Goodison, and others hailing their favourite ever players.

All these stories and many more can be found via our dedicated 'Home' Tumblr site here.

It's not too late to add your own stories or favourite memories of roaring on the Blues at Goodison Park.

Whether it's a particular moment of on-pitch magic, an unexpected encounter, a bizarre event, a great goal, or simply one that means something unique to you, let us know by emailing home1819@evertonfc.com and your Everton tale could appear like Sean's above.
