Sam Allardyce backs Michael Keane to rediscover the form that saw him force his way into the England national team.

The Blues boss tells the Daily Telegraph the 25-year-old is still adjusting to life at Goodison Park as he prepares to return to former club Burnley this afternoon.

The Daily Mail report that Keane’s defensive cohort Eliaquim Mangala is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, with Allardyce confirming the Manchester City loanee will remain with the Toffees for treatment.

The Daily Mirror are among those to cover Paul Gascoigne’s visit to USM Finch Farm, where he met manager Sam Allardyce, former teammate Duncan Ferguson and Blues forward Wayne Rooney on Friday.

Allardyce discusses Everton’s progress in the Guardian as they aim to move level on points with the seventh-placed Clarets at Turf Moor, while the Liverpool Echo react to Ramiro Funes Mori being called up for Argentina’s double-header with Italy and Spain - despite making just two Under-23s run-outs since returning from a serious knee injury last month.
