Today's Daily Mail is one of a number of publications to report on the retirement of former Toffees' favourite Steven Pienaar.

The Liverpool Echo features a piece dissecting South African attacker Pienaar's finest moments in an Everton jersey. The same paper includes an article marking the 38th anniversary of the passing of the Club's greatest goalscorer, Dixie Dean – and reports on Toffees goalkeeper Jordan Pickford being installed as the bookmakers' favourite to start England's opening World Cup game against Tunisia in Russia on 18 June.

West Bromwich Albion's former Manchester United centre-back Jonny Evans is mooted as a potential Blues target by the Daily Mirror.

And in further transfer speculation, a host of Italian outlets are crediting Everton with an interest in AC Milan's Italy Under-21 right-back, Davide Calabria.
