The Mirror focuses on Wayne Rooney and how the Everton forward enjoys the pressure of playing for Everton, while the idea of having to prove himself was one of the factors for signing for the Blues. Rooney stated that it would have been easy for him to move abroad, but the challenge of playing for his boyhood club was an offer he could not turn down

The Liverpool Echo examines another potential Everton signing this summer as the Blues are reportedly keen to sign Chris Smalling from Manchester United, and are ahead of Premier League opponents Newcastle, West Ham and Arsenal for the 28-year-old's signature. 

The Echo also looks at Cuco Martina and how the defender has been putting the extra hours in training with Toffees legend, Duncan Ferguson. Martina explains how the Scot has helped improve his left foot his all-round game also.

Finally, Everton Football Club has been named one of the best places to work in the UK in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list. As well as placing in the mid-sized companies category, the Blues have been awarded a Best Companies accreditation status, which recognises the high levels of employee engagement at the Club.
