What The Papers Say - 19 February

A new study featured in Monday’s Daily Mail lauds Everton midfielder Tom Davies as one of the very best young players in European football.

CIES Football Observatory have used player data to compile a list of the most promising teenage talents across the continent and rank Davies seventh - 25 places higher than his nearest Premier League rival, Manchester United's Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and three ahead of closest compatriot, Ryan Sessegnon of Fulham.

Elsewhere, Sam Allardyce appears in the Liverpool Echo, revealing the “secret weapon” that has been a big part of the Blues’ warm weather training camp out in Dubai.

In the same paper, Everton Chief Executive Officer Robert Elstone appeals for fans to have their say on what they want to see from Bramley-Moore Dock and help the Club build a stadium that “breaks the mould”. Supporters are being urged to take part in a 51-question survey based on 11 Key Principles that can be filled in here

Another name to feature in the Echo is skipper Phil Jagielka, who praises the speed with which Cenk Tosun has settled into the dressing room at Everton, adding that it’s still too early to judge the January arrival following his move from Turkish champions Besiktas.

The local paper also explain why Dominic Calvert-Lewin has almost played a full Premier League campaign in mid-February, while Here In The City point out Middlesbrough fans' positive Twitter reaction to loanee Muhamed Besic’s Boro debut this weekend.
