Davies Named As One Of Europe's Top Talents

Welcome, Marco!

Everything you need to know about the new boss here.

Tom Davies has been named as one of the most promising teenagers in Europe in a recent study.

CIES Football Observatory, which gathers data and scientifically analyses player performances of footballers across Europe to help determine estimates in market value, has published a report on the most promising youngsters aged under 20.

CIES' research analyses the domestic league experience cumulated during the past two years and gives players a star rating as an indicator of how likely they are to establish themselves in the very highest level of European football.

Minutes played by each player is weighted according to the sporting level of the leagues they have featured in as well as results achieved by their clubs.

Everton’s Davies is ranked at number seven, the highest Premier League player in the study, having made his debut in January 2017. The midfielder and Academy graduate has played in 23 of the Blues’ 27 top-flight games this season, and is 25 places above his nearest Premier League rival Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who sits in 32nd place.

The only other Englishman to make the top 10 is Fulham’s 17-year-old Ryan Sessegnon, while there are also places for Leeds United’s Ronaldo Vieira (20), Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz (36) and Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (41).

Topping the list is Italy and AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, with fellow glovesman Alban Lafont of Toulouse in second. France international striker Kylian Mbappe completes the top three.
