The Liverpool Echo covers the story that Ramiro Funes Mori stepped up his comeback from injury as he played 45 minutes for the Everton Under-23s last night.

The Toffees went down 4-0 against title chasing Arsenal, with Funes Mori becoming the second Everton player looking to fight their way back into first-team contention following a lengthy lay-off after Seamus Coleman’s return last week.

Following the match, Funes Mori said "I am very happy to be back on the pitch...I feel good. The match was intense...It was disappointing to lose the game but, personally, I feel happy, I feel good – and even better about my fitness."

After Wayne Rooney’s debut appearance on Monday Night Football last night, the Daily Mirror has revealed the Everton forward plans to go into management once he calls time on his playing career.
