Sam Allardyce spoke to the media on Monday ahead of Everton’s clash with Leicester City.

The Blues host the Foxes at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening, kick-off 7.45pm.

Key points discussed during the press conference at USM Finch Farm included:

- Seamus Coleman is in the first-team squad to face Leicester after training regularly in recent weeks.

- Defender Ramiro Funes Mori has also joined in training sessions as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury.

- James McCarthy's operation from a double leg break "went well" and the midfielder is now recuperating at home.

- Possible transfer dealings before Wednesday's deadline but "only if it is right for the Club".

- The difficult challenge of facing Leicester and stopping Jamie Vardy, Rihad Mahrez and Shinji Okazaki.

- The "teething problems" of VAR but the Blues boss' faith a "much better system will be in place" and that the technology is "definitely needed".
