Everton are said to be watching a pair of French players in Monday’s newspapers.

The Daily Star suggests the Blues will make a move for defender Adama Soumaoro, with the 25-year-old Lille man capable of playing across the back four.

Another target is said to be Boubakary Soumare, with the Liverpool Echo claiming the Toffees are watching the teenage midfielder, who has been dubbed ‘the next Paul Pogba’.

The Echo also write that West Brom striker Salomon Rondon will visit James McCarthy in hospital, and that Oumar Niasse will not be leaving the club in the January window.

Blues striker Henry Onyekuru, back at USM Finch Farm from his loan spell at Anderlecht because of injury, tells the local read that he is “smiling every day” because of the care he is receiving as he recovers.
