What The Papers Say - 20 January

This morning’s newspapers are full of reaction from Theo Walcott’s official unveiling as an Everton player at USM Finch Farm on Friday.

The forward sat down to speak to the media at the Club’s training ground and told the Daily Mail he is planning to add firepower to the Blues’ frontline following his midweek switch from Arsenal.

The same paper claims the 28-year-old will get an early chance to impress England manager Gareth Southgate in his new club colours, with the Three Lions chief set to be at Goodison Park for the visit of West Bromwich Albion.

The Daily Star suggests Burnley are “close” to securing a deal for Everton winger Aaron Lennon - a story also reported in the Daily Mirror

The Liverpool Echo dig out the stats that prove Jordan Pickford has had a better season than rivals Petr Cech, Hugo Lloris and Joe Hart, while Sam Allardyce tells the same paper the lure of managing Everton was simply too much for him to resist.
