What The Papers Say - 11 January

Thursday’s Liverpool Echo says Everton have “joined the hunt” for Arsenal forward Theo Walcott.

The paper claims the Blues face competition from the 28-year-old’s former club Southampton if they wish to bring him to Merseyside.

Michael Ball tells the same paper he believes Walcott signing for Everton would be “good for all sides”, while the Daily Express list the Toffees as one of a number of English clubs said to be interested in AC Milan striker Andre Silva.

The Italian club's sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli says the Portugal international will not be leaving the San Siro, however.

Everton’s major shareholder Farhad Moshiri discusses the arrival of striker Cenk Tosun in the Daily Mirror, while the Echo report Sam Allardyce will assess left-back Luke Garbutt this month before deciding whether or not to add him to the Club’s Premier League squad list.
